Hello! My name is Rachel Smith, I am a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and the founder of Mountainside Speech Therapy. I work with preschool to school-aged children with speech sound disorders, developmental language disorders, and reading disabilities, such as dyslexia. I offer children a more individualized, one-on-one treatment so they can thrive in a learning environment.

Our Services
Mountainside Speech Therapy provides both evaluation and treatment for a variety of pediatric speech and language disorders, including reading disabilities and dyslexia. The first step is to request a comprehensive evaluation to diagnose all areas of need, in order to design an individualized treatment plan, specifically for your child.
Characterized by difficulties producing the sounds in a language. Children may struggle to articulate one or more sounds or have a pattern of sound errors, known as phonological processes or patterns.
Characterized by deficits in the comprehension or expression of oral language. Children may have a limited vocabulary or difficulty with grammar when speaking.
Characterized by difficulties with written language, including reading and writing. Children with oral language deficits may find themselves struggling with reading comprehension in the school-age years.
In-Home Visits or Online
Appointments can be scheduled in your home or online via a secure video platform. Depending on the situation, some children may benefit from in-home visits at first and then be ready for online therapy sessions after getting started.

Location:
Services are offered in your home or online. I live in Weber County, but I am willing to travel a reasonable distance to other counties in Utah for initial evaluations. For distanced clients, online treatment sessions will be a necessity after the initial evaluation.
