Rachel Smith, M.S., CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist

Hello! My name is Rachel Smith. I am a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in Utah, and the founder of Mountainside Speech Therapy. As the second child of nine, I have always loved spending time with children and helping them grow and develop. With a passion for pediatric speech, language, and literacy development, I promote evidence-based practices for supporting children’s listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in both academic and private settings.

I hold extensive training in creating and implementing individual treatment plans based on the most up-to-date research and the unique needs of each and every client. When not working, I find joy in the simple things of life, including nature walks, singing birds, dancing, music, and conversations with family/friends.

What Makes Us Stand Out

One-on-One

Do you have a child with developmental, speech, language, or learning disabilities? Mountainside Speech Therapy offers individualized therapy sessions to help improve their speaking and reading skills. Let’s get your child the treatment they deserve!

Qualifications

Speech-Language Pathologists are uniquely qualified when it comes to comprehensive language and literacy evaluations for reading disabilities or dyslexia. This is often the missing piece that clients may not get from other professionals.

Many learning difficulties, especially those related to reading and writing, are related to underlying deficits in speech/language development. I truly love working with kids and seeing them thrive in a learning environment.

Home Visits and Online Sessions

Speech therapy and reading sessions can be scheduled in your home or online. You may request visits in your own home, if you live near the Ogden, Utah area. Alternatively, you may request online sessions, if you live outside of the Greater Ogden area or simply enjoy the convenience of teletherapy.

With the COVID-19 pandemic, many people became more familiar with video conferencing, but teletherapy for speech therapy was around long before the pandemic started, and it has just gotten bigger since then. Online treatment is a valid form of speech and reading therapy for many clients.
